Practical tasks
Task 1
Think of the last project you implemented and analyze the things that did not go as planned. Your task is to reflect upon it, identify the causes, and come up with strategies for improvement. To do this, please fill out the table below:
Problem análisis: what exactly happened? | Understanding the reasons: why do you think it happened? | Developing improvement strategies: what can be done better next time? |
Task 2
Think of the next project in the urban setting that you are planning to implement in your community. Reflect on the possible risks that might hinder the implementation of your actions and then fill out the table below (in the background text for this chapter we included an example of risks so you can go back to it once again for inspiration).
When identifying the risks, make sure that apart from general hazards/threats, such as management issues or communication challenges, you include risks that are specific to working with adults at risk of exclusion in urban setting. For example, if you work with minorities, there might be some linguistic challenges, if you work with migrants who just arrived to your city maybe they’d need more instructions as for how to get to the project venue, if you organize your activity in a public space maybe you’d need some special agreement with the local council etc.
